there have been a lot of sunday mornings we've written off entirely.
not because of anything dramatic. just the ordinary version — a big weekend, a body running on empty, a day that quietly disappears while you lie there thinking there has to be something that actually works.
so we looked. and everything on the market was either loaded with sugar, full of ingredients we couldn't pronounce, or looked like it belonged on a chemist shelf next to the cold and flu tablets. none of it felt like something we actually wanted to be part of our morning.
so we built it ourselves.

what we were actually solving for
when you have a big night, your body burns through electrolytes, b vitamins, magnesium — the basics it needs to function. the next morning you're running on empty, and you feel it. aftrr gives that back. twelve ingredients, all things your body already recognises and uses. mix it with water, drink it, get on with your day.
it's not a cure. we're not claiming miracles. it's just what your body needs and didn't have — built for the morning after, not the night before.

building this while everything else was happening too
we're not going to pretend this has been a clean, linear startup story. we built aftrr while working full time. we're dropping serious money into a first production run. and — no small detail — one of us has a baby due basically the same week we're planning to launch.
the timing is unhinged. but there's something fitting about it. aftrr is about getting back up. and there's nothing that tests that more than doing the hard thing while everything else in your life is also happening. there was never going to be a right time. there was just now.

what 12 months of formulation actually taught us
nobody tells you how hard it is to make something properly. every ingredient in this formula had to be justified, tested, dosed correctly — you can't just throw things together and hope. packaging, which sounds like the fun part, turned out to be one of the hardest calls: it has to look like the brand, work practically, and not blow the budget on a first order. there were many mistakes along the way.
we've learned more about supplement manufacturing in the last 12 months than we ever expected to. but the part we keep coming back to is this — if we'd cut corners anywhere, it would show. in the product, in the brand, in how it feels to actually use it.
we didn't cut corners. that's the part we're proudest of.
